A blockbuster trio of semi-final fixtures dawns with the 2024 Charter Hall Shute Shield finals race kicking off this weekend.

This weekend's fixtures launch a three-week finals series culminating with the Shute Shield Final on 31 August at Leichhardt Oval.

After another tightly fought Shute Shield season, only 6 points separate the six finalists, with Easts pipping Warringah for the E.S Marks Shield by just a single point.

Round Eighteen was pivotal in shaping the semi-final opponents, with Manly’s 31-10 loss to Norths seeing them slide below Randwick, Gordon and their most recent opponents to finish the season in sixth position.

It means the Marlins now face minor premiers Easts on Saturday afternoon at Woollahra Oval, a fixture which saw Manly suffer a 2-point defeat in Round Ten.

In Saturday’s other semi-final fixture, Randwick host Gordon at Coogee Oval. The rivals last met in Round Thirteen at the same venue, with the Galloping Greens edging past Gordon on that occasion to secure a 15 - 11 victory.

Gordon however enter the finals carrying strong recent form having won their last four games, including a hard-fought victory over fellow semi-finalists Norths at Chatswood Oval.

Sunday’s semi-final sees Norths travel to Pittwater Rugby Park to face off against second place finishers Warringah at 3:05pm.

Warringah have only suffered one defeat at Rat Park in 2024 and will hoping this impressive home record holds them in good stead when Norths visit this weekend. The two teams last met in Round Eight at North Sydney Oval, the scene of a epic 28 - 28 draw.

Having gone so close in last years Shute Shield Grand Final, Norths will no doubt be ready to challenge the Rat Park faithful as they strive for their first premiership since 2016.
